Archive for Stuff about Zye

November 2007

I failed as the family photographer in November and didn’t get many pics taken despite some milestones in the boys’ lives and, of course, the Thanksgiving holiday.  Anyway, there are a few pics for you to enjoy.  Zye started playing basketball with a preschool church league in Norman.  He loves it.  Tace, finally at 13 months, has started trying to walk.  He doesn’t quite have a smooth technique down yet as you can tell from the pics but he is trying.  He has taken as many as 16 steps at one time.  I’ll do better in December and provide lots of pics for everyone to enjoy.

October 2007

Well, Tace is ONE YEAR old now. It’s hard to believe it has already been a year since he was born. We had a great party for him at our church. We also visited the zoo with our friends Jacob & Tyler, went to the pumpkin patch, got some great 1 year pics taken of Tace and enjoyed the really nice fall weather outside with our neighborhood friends.

September 2007

School is in full swing and both boys are loving it. Zye has started learning to ride his bike without training wheels. Tace is getting closer to walking everyday. Football season has began and we are all enjoying cheering on our Sooners. We went to the State Fair with Grandpa & Nana, visited the Orr Family Farm and Zye and Zac had a “Boys Day” at HeyDay in Norman.

August 2007

August has been busy as I’m sure it has been for most of you. Tace got his first haircut at 9 1/2 months (3 1/2 months later than Zye got his first cut). He did great and looks so handsome with his new big boy haircut. He also decided earlier in the month (the day Zye was sick and needed me more than usual) he was going to start crawling at warp speed and get in to EVERYTHING. This pattern has not stopped yet. Because of this Tace also celebrated another milestone - his first head injury. It was a good one too - giant bump, big bruise, lots of crying, screaming and fit throwing. Tace also finally got a tooth. Two to be exact. His bottom two teeth finally broke through after several sleepness nights.

Both boys started back to school on the 20th. Tace is in the baby room at Mothers Day Out. Ms. Amy & Ms. Debra are his teachers. Zye is in Pre-K in Teacher Shelly’s class. He LOVES school and begs to go more - they only go MWF. Business is booming at Old Hat and football season starts Sept. 1st so Zac is in heaven. I just started doing contract work part-time for MidFirst Bank. So, I’m back with my old co-workers, boss and department. I’m really enjoying it.

And, for those of you wondering, no Zac is not sick.  He has lost a lot of weight through exercise and eating better.  He is in better shape than he ever has been in his life.  He shaved his head because he said he was going bald anyway.  He does not have cancer or some other horrible illness.  Thank God!  Thanks for those of you that were concerned though.

July 2007

Tace is 9 months old now and won’t crawl though he is up on his hands & knees and will take a few steps while holding on to someone’s fingers. Zye is 4 1/2 this month snd is already talking about being 5 and going to the big kid class at school. Both boys are in summer camp at MDO and love it. We had Bible School at church this month as well where Jill taught the Preschool class and we learned lots of new songs and bible verses.  We headed to Seminole to visit the Children’s Museum as well.  Zye loves it there and was able to fill an entire Saturday with fun activities

June 2007

We finished up t-ball in June and Zye’s team won. He had a great time playing and amazingly enough, none of the games got rained out. Tace turned 8 months old and is FINALLY sitting up completely on his own. Still no signs of wanting to crawl or even pushing himself in to a sitting position. He seems to be perfectly happy with just sitting right now. As you can easily see by looking at him, he loves his food and is learning to drink from a cup. Zye has had the month off for summer break and he and Tace both start “camp” at church next month. Zye is excited to have Tace at camp with him.

May 2007

We had soccer and t-ball keeping us busy in early May. School was finally out on the 31st due to snow make up days from the winter. Zac and Jill went to NYC with their friends Brandon & Lindsey. This was a surprise 30th birthday trip for Jill. We had a fabulous time and are ready to go back. Tace has stopped using his pacifier - not by his choice. Tace seems to really be maturing this month as well. And, Zac would be really mad if I didn’t mention that Tace said “Dada.”

April 2007

In April we got a visit from Great-Grandma Hazel, celebrated Easter with a TON of egg hunts @ home, school & church, taught Tace to eat more solid foods (he now eats all his veggies & fruits), celebrated Tace turning 6 months old (can you believe it), had a special visit from Nana & Grandpa to help Zye plant his garden (he is growing tomatoes, lettuce, peppers, gourds, sunflowers, green beans, and tons of other stuff), Zye started playing soccer and loves it (anything that involves the outdoors and running is cool by him) and Tace is doing much better on practicing his sitting up. We are looking forward to a busy May with school finishing up, more soccer and the start of t-ball. Mommy and Daddy even ended up with a few pics on here this time. We had our annual friends weekend in April as well and had a blast - yes, those are our PJ’s we are wearing. :)

March 2007

The month of March was very busy and exciting. Tace started eating solid foods and he FINALLY rolled over with much coaching and encouragement from his big brother. Zye had his spring break and we did a lot of fun stuff around Norman until he got really sick toward the end of the week. He ended up in the ER for dehydration and was much better once they gave him some IV fluids. Before he got sick we got to go to the circus, the park, the library and the mall. We also went to Incredible Pizza and played LOTS of golf and bowling.

February 2007

Tace is now 4 months old. He weighed 16lbs, 12oz and was 26″ long at his most recent check up. He has the fattest legs. Zye still thinks Tace is the greatest thing ever and can’t wait for him to be big enough to really play with him. Daddy went skiing this month so Mommy & the boys got to spend 5 days of serious quality time together. We were all ready for a break by the time Daddy got home. Zye had his Valentine’s Day party at school and I got my 12th annual Valentine shirt of my boys. This year it is a collage of all 3 of them. Zye also got to go to a concert with his school where they sang and danced. He loved it. Tace is smiling and laughing all the time now. Still no rolling over though.
