The end of another school year, sports, vacation, camps and just general summer fun have kept us busy the past couple of months.  Zac & Jill celebrated their 10th anniversary in January and finally went on their trip in late May/early June.  We went to Seattle & Victoria, BC.  It was AWESOME!  The boys & Yale stayed with Jill’s parents while we were gone & had a fantastic time.  Zye has started & finished his final season of tball.  Next year he graduates to machine pitch.  Zye has attended weird science camp & art camp and both boys are enjoying “summer day out” at our church now.

We started April off with a visit from Jill’s brother Cody and his wife, Melissa.  They were in town for our cousin’s wedding which was in Tulsa on Palm Sunday.  It was a super cold and windy day but the wedding was beautiful and it gave us a wonderful opportunity to see the whole family.  We had multiple egg hunts at home & church for Easter.  The Easter bunny visited.  Zye got super sick right before Easter and missed an entire week of school.  We still aren’t sure what was wrong.  He is all better now though.  Tace turned 2 1/2 and is just as ornery as ever.  Zye’s soccer season started.  Two of our games have been rained out but he is having fun at the games we actually get to play.  Zac ran the OKC Memorial Marathon again.  The conditions were horribly windy and I think he is still trying to decide if he ever wants to do something that crazy again.  Two times might be enough.  Yale turned 6 months old and we got her fixed so there will be no risk of more little chewing puppies running around.  She is a good dog but man does she make BIG messes.  She is HUGE and still has a lot of growing to do.

We didn’t do much during February & March.  Zye participated in his school’s Bingo Night Fundraiser and the Jog-a-thon.  He raised over $200 for his school by jogging 22 laps.  He ran the whole time and went further than any other student in Kindergarten.  For spring break we just stayed around here.  The boys spent a couple days with Grandpa & Nana, we played with friends at the park, at our house and went to the zoo.  Luckily, we had 3 very nice days during spring break so we got outside a bit.  Yale is getting HUGE!  She is a really good dog though and the boys continue to enjoy playing with her.  Yale will be 6 months old in April and Tace will be 2 1/2.  Zye has almost completed Kindergarten and says he is looking forward to summer break.  We’ll see how long that lasts once school is actually out.

What a great January!  Zac & Jill celebrated 10 years of marriage, Zac turned 32, Zye turned 6 and we had 3 snow days.  Well, the snow days weren’t so great for Mom but Zye and Tace thought they were awesome.  Yale, the new puppy we got from Grandpa & Nana at Christmas, is doing great.  The boys love her and she is getting big fast.  She is in puppy training class right now and is doing quite well.  She is surprisingly well behaved, which is good since Jill is not a dog person.  Hope the new year is treating all of you well.

What an awesome Christmas season we had. We got to visit with all of our family and just had a wonderful time. We even added a new member to our family. Grandpa got the boys a white lab puppy. Zye has named her Yale. She is adorable and sweet and really smart. She is adjusting quite well to her new family. She and Zye are already the best of friends. Tace is still getting used to her but coming around quickly. Jill’s brother and his wife, Melissa were able to be here for several days right after Christmas and Zac’s brother and his family were here to visit one day. We traveled to Jill’s Grandma’s house and Jill’s Aunt’s house for two different family celebrations. Our small little famiy did our annual Christmas Train ride in OKC again this year. The boys had a blast. Check out all our pictures to see all the fun things we packed in to a few short weeks. HAPPY NEW YEAR!  Zac & Jill will be celebrating their ten year anniversary on Jan 2nd.  That’s right, 10 years.  Yes, we are getting old.

I didn’t take many pics in November but have already taken a lot in December. So, I’m combining the two. I’ll add the rest of December and all our Christmas festivities in January. Our BIG event in December has been Zye’s school cooking contest. He won the initial recipe contest for his entire school then went on to compete with other elementary students from the 15 other Norman elementary schools. They actually made their dishes themselves.   Zye’s recipe was Crazy Cheese Straws.  He was SO proud of himself, as were we. He even got recognized in front of the whole group as the most “authentic” chef because his chef coat was covered in flour.  School is now out for Christmas break and we are looking forward to a 2 week break of rest, fun, family, food & presents. TACE IS TWO! We celebrated a lot on October. Lots of football, Tace’s b-day & Halloween. Jill got to go with Zye to TG Farms Pumpkin Patch for school field trip. It was a lot of fun for both of us. Tace had a doggy themed b-day party and had lot of friends over to help him celebrate. Tace was a monkey for Halloween & Zye was a “scary” bat. Zye is really enjoying kindergarten and learning so much. Tace is doing great on his potty training. He rarely has accidents anymore. Tace has also started counting now. We have no idea where he picked it up, just from listening to us count with Zye we guess. We had Tace’s 2-year pics & family pics taken by the very talented Dustin Schmidt. We are super excited about them as Dustin captured Tace’s personality like no one has done before.

School is going great - Tace started the week after Zye did.  He is in Ms. Laura, Ms. Ashley & Ms. Katie’s class.  He loves it.  Potty training is going really well.  Zye continues to love Kindergarten and is learning a lot - mostly good stuff but some not so good.  :)  We are ready for fall and enjoying football season so far.

Back to School Night & The First Day of Kindergarten were both a success.  Mommy & Daddy were both a little sad to see Zye go but we knew he would have a great time.  He did!  Tace must have asked Mommy 20 times “Where Zye go?”  He really misses his brother during the day.

Our last full month of summer was a blast. Both boys went to “camp” at our church and we all went to bible school. Zye graduated to the “big kid” room, Jill was a craft teacher and Tace got to play in the nursery. It was a lot of fun. We played with our friends, played on the slip ‘n’ slide, went to the science museum and celebrated the 4th. Tace turned 21 months and Zye turned 5 1/2, which to him is HUGE. We bought school supplies last week for Zye, who starts Kindergarten on August 20th. Jill & Zac are a little sad but also excited for him. Zye is just SUPER excited to go to “big school.” Today, this last day of July, we have started potty training Tace. We started at 8am and it is now 5pm. Several accidents later we have actually made it in the potty 5 times. WOOHOO! I think Tace may be swimming in juice by now but he is doing great. He even stayed dry during nap time. Hopefully by next month’s post we are 100% daytime potty trained.
